Fun day!

So yesterday I did not have to work at all- not at Treasury or at Blueberries- and I was so excited. Ran and I went to Tacoma to the Glass Museum. First, I have to say I was so proud of myself because I found it without getting lost AND I found my way back to I-5 without getting lost!! YIPPEE!! (It is not a rare thing for us to get lost when we go on little adventures) Okay, so the Glass Museum was pretty cool. They have this place where visiting artists actually work and you can watch them. ( FYI- Chihully is going to be the guest artists starting sometime in August!) So we watched for that a bit- very interesting. Then we went to see the exhibits. One was very very impressive- loved it. The other was very disappointing, ut that's okay we still had fun. After we were finished at the Glass Museum we headed to IKEA! I am a total IKEA junkie and I hadn't been since Feb. so I totally needed this. and what a surprise- they re-arranged and such so things were different plus they were having thier big twice a year sale. So yeah- we ate some Swedish meatballs and had loads of fun looking at all the stuff that we are going to buy someday. Here are some picts.

The weather here...

is so nice!! I am loving it! It is so sunny and nice. Today it was in the 80's- a little warm, but so nice. Yesterday was just as nice.

Yesterday was Maxwell's birthday party. Big Thanks to Alissa who worked for me so I could go to the party. It was really fun and cute. It was monkey themed and they really went all out. Inside they had made vines that were hanging from the ceiling and palm trees were going up the walls. Out side there were stuffed monkeys hanging from the trees. They had face painting, a pinata, water balloons, and a ton of other activites for the kiddos. Maxwell looked especially cute. He sat outside in this cute little toy. He, of course, got tons of attention from the adults and the kids. (I am sure he loved every minute of it)

After the party Ran and I took pup to the dog park. It was an interesting experience- we had never been before. There were a ton of dogs there and pup was scared of them. There were a couple of dogs that wanted to play with her so they started chasing her and she started running (with her tail between her legs) back to the car! After a while most of the dogs went home and it was just her and a couple others. She did okay then, although she still didn't didn't really play with them. But she did have fun fetching sticks out of the water and got Ran and myself super wet and dirty.

I have been busy with work and Ran has been busy at school. He isn't taking any classes, but him and his cermaic teacher have a deal so that Ran can work in the studio this summer (without registering for the class- too much $$) in exchange Ran is helping him out mixing glazes and clay, firings, etc.

Here is a super cute pict. of Elizabeth's little boy, Jackson, at Maxwell's birthday party. He was taking hsi turn at the pinata. (by the way Elizabeth is my boss at treasury and Maxwell's Aunt)

new scrap space!

so tonight when I got home from work I cleaned and organized my new scrap space well enough so I could post pictures. The walls are not done yet...I don't know if I will keep the red painting there and I still need to hang up some stuff. Anyhow...so far I really like it. The only down side- it is in the dining room area so I need to keep it somewhat clean- I can't just shut the door when guests come over anymore.

Tara and Trey left on Sunday and my mom and don arrived. We went to the beach, walked around Fairhaven, watched a movie, took them to the re-store, and up to big rock park. Mom even came to my card class at work today. Here they are at the bay:

While mom and don were here we started re-arranging our house...again. I think I am really going to like it. I am excited for it to be finished. We are moving my scrap area to a new spot and I I love it already. I will have to finish it soon so I can post picts.

man oh man

its been almost a week since I last posted...sorry. We've been busy here getting ready for finals, working, etc.

Ran did another clay project this past week. He laid out wet clay tiles on the kitchen floor again but this time instead of walking all over them, he slept on them!! He didn't even have a sheet over them...he said it was very cold. He didn't want to sleep out there by himself so he moved the couch out the way and pulled our mattress out to the living room so I would sleep out there too. We still haven't put our mattress back- it's like a camp out every night.

I discovered this great show in the discovery channel- Deadliest catch. I love it!! It is all about the fishing boats on the bering sea. Speaking of which- it is on tonight...YEAH!!

Ran did another art project this morning. I was not a happy camper. We had to wake up early- like 5:00 a.m. and go down to the bay. He made this thing that held a piece of paper and bar with a paint brush attached to it. On the opposite end of that bar were floating devices so as the waves came in and out it would move the bar up and down and all around. Here is a pict. of it:

While we were down there was saw a crane and two deer came down to drink...is it safe for them to drink salt water. I would think that would dehydrate them. I'm sure they know what they are doing.

Well this weekend will be pretty fun. First. on Fri. and Sun. my brother and sister-in-law are coming up to visit for her 21st birthday- YEAH! and then on Sunday and Monday my mom and don will be here. Should be fun and busy.
